ABOUT US

BeholdtheKing is a Christian rock band based out of central Kentucky. The band consists of wife Amber Skaggs (Lead Vocals) and husband David Skaggs (lead vocals, guitar, piano) along with brother Tim Skaggs (Bass and all the LOW end noises) and Zach Ray (Drums). Most of the band members are members of a home church network in Versailles, Ky, and are huge proponents of Biblical home churches. They also love to help bring awareness and support to the persecuted Church internationally and are actively seeking out opportunities to assist the persecuted Church in any way possible. BeholdtheKing is musically influenced by bands such as Red, Lacey Sturm, Ascend The Hill, Skillet, and Austin Stone Worship.
From the band:

Hey guys, we are BeholdtheKing, and we want to share a bit of our lives and heart. We have been playing music together for a long time, and it is our joy to share our love of music and Biblically sound lyrics and theology with you!

Our heart’s desire is to see the Church looking to Jesus, and that desire is why we are called BeholdtheKing. The writer of Hebrews encourages us in chapter 12 to “lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely”, and to “run with endurance the race that is set before us”. He follows with, “looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith”, and reminds us the glorious news, “Who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” What incredible news it is that we have a King who endured the cross. And how wonderful it is that we are to look to Him! As believers, our goal is to help lift eyes upward to behold Christ, the Head of the Church. We do that by leading the Church in singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs that are rich in Biblically sound theology that gently nudge us to look to Jesus. We hope to join with you soon!
David Skaggs
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:1-2
